Thing #11
I checked out the Ning socal networking site and visited a few of the different categories and social networks. I took particular interest in the ink site which was about tatoos although one thing I did discuss is that you need to be careful that you dont end up signing up and then find it wants you to pay - I back tracked out of that one.
It was fun although I dont think that this is something I would use too often either personally or professionally, I can see why people may like it but not really for me.

Thing #9
This was a fun exercise I checked out manyof the suggested feeds and ended up surfing in a different direction (as you do!). I went to Edublog and found a link to create quizzes which was fun, I actually created a basic fun quiz for my WOW students. There are many interesting and useful tools available through blogs.

Thing #8
RSS Feeds initially I found a little confusing I think because I didnt take the advice and read the tutorials first (I like to learn by play) hence it takes forever but I enjoy the journey on the way. I got the hang of it after a while and copying and pasting the URL's seemed a simple way of adding a feed - I sometimes wonder though how some people with low IT skills/experience would manage some of these tools?? I did create a blog within the bloglines for public viewing but then changed it as I didnt like having my email address visible and could not work out how not to display it. Anyway this was an informative and fun exercise.

Thing #6
Well as per usual I lost track of time looking at Flickr site (Mashups). A few of the mashups I enjoyed mucking around with included the puzzles (jigsaw), calendar, badges and posters.
I would love to have had more time to spend playing with these fun tools - I will try to get back to them a little later

Thing #5
Well this was an experience, lots of fun! I could explore forever. I cannot believe how many tools there are available to use on the Internet.
The photo I selected was learning teleconference as it was another means to communication in this wonderful world of technology. I tagged it as "24/7 learning anywhere and anytime". I hope you like it! I cant wait to have a look at some of your photo's from flickr.

Thing #4
This week I registered my blog to share with you all.
I am really enjoying learning and infact cant wait to do more. I again found the Curriculum Connections to provide good information and tips, it also gave links to other blogs which have been created by schools and it was good to check them out and see how they are using blogs.

Thing #3
Setting up a Blog was fun and very easy and I found the tutorial to be most helpful. I will no doubt modify it a few times before I am happy with the "look" of my blog.
Creating the Avatar was loads of fun - the style you develop is based very much on your mood and how you are feeling at the time - hence the long coat I chose, not sure what thats saying really.....
Another interesting idea I read this week was from the curriculum connections which had a quote referring to the use of blogs. "Lead your students into areas of ‘big idea’ inquiry with a blog. You can get thoughts rolling, provide research links, and finish up with classroom discussions". I will definately use a blog for my students.
Thing # 2
Thing # 2 was to undertake a tutorial on the 7 1/2 Habits of highly successful life long learners. There was a lot of interesting information on this site but one I would like to share with you which successful lifelong learners believe is:
- Attitude is everything
- I will..., I can..., I do...
- Learner 1st
- It's never too late (or too soon) to learn something
- Learning opportunities at all ages and in all contexts

This Classroom Learning 2.0 blog has been set-up as part of the CSLA School Library Learning 2.0 program to encourage all of us to experiment and learn about the new and emerging technologies that are reshaping the context of information on the Internet today.
As a individual in a group I/we will undertake this training over a 9 week maximum period to collect all 23 things. At the conclusion we will have a workshop to discuss and present the outcomes.
